The patrols provide rapid response clearance of disabled vehicles and removal of road debris. Service plazas and tourist information centers
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation provides Travel Service Plazas and Tourist Information Centers along the major highways in the Commonwealth. These facilities offer drivers a location to fill their vehicles up with gas, eat, get a cup of coffee or learn what an area has to offer. All travel plazas have restrooms. MassDOT also oversees a number of rest areas located on major routes to safely pull off the road for a pit stop or a driving break.
