The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife provides detailed maps of ponds open to the public and information sheets listing each pond's depth, acreage, and facilities including boat ramps, picnicking grounds, and fish cleaning stations.

MassWildlife owns over 100 Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and 13 wildlife sanctuaries with care and control of over 160,000 acres of lands and waters. All WMAs are open to hunting, fishing, trapping, and other outdoor recreation activities. Sanctuaries are more restrictive – that is, camping, hunting, fishing, and trapping is prohibited.
