Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program is dedicated to ensuring family-centered care for parents with infants and young children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Recently, the program held a Parent Forum at the Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston. A large group of parents attended and the theme of the day was “Dream.” An educational and inspirational teen panel of five of the most exceptional young people who are deaf or hard of hearing in Massachusetts presented to the parents in the morning. The afternoon session was a workshop presented by the Federation for Children with Special Needs called “Creating a Vision for Your Child.” For more information you can find the program at www.mass.gov/dph/newbornhearingscreening or call 1-800-882-1435.
