• Fertilizer and Lime

    All fertilizer or lime products manufactured or distributed in Massachusetts must be registered with the Department of Agricultural Resources. The semi-annual report - issued on January 1st and July 1st of each year - is due by September 1 and March 1.

  • Commercial Feed & Pet Food Registration

    The registration fee is $100 per product for both feed and pet food. The registration feed for commercial feed is $100 per product. Also includes information on pet food recalls.

  • Bee (Apiary) Inspections

    Each hive in the state is to be registered with DFA and shall be inspected by DFA personnel each year.

  • Nursery Plant Inspections

    Pursuant to Section 17 of Chapter 128, General Laws, and Section 3B of Chapter 7, General Laws, the Department conducts an annual inspection of each nursery or place where nursery stock is grown.

  • Fruit and Vegetable Inspection

    Includes inspection fees, apple and seed laws and regulations.

  • Animal Shipments and Livestock Markets

    All livestock, horses, poultry, waterfowl and other animals, including cats, dogs and other pets entering Massachusetts from other states must comply with Commonwealth regulations, significantly reducing the possibility of introducing contagious disease to our domestic animal population.
